I'm tired of hearing Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana on DC radio. I loved those tunes back in college, but it's 2011. Here are some picks of what the radio should be playing.

Paste's Best Of
My favorite lists are appearing, as Paste debuts its best album list for 2013. And there are many good things on it: Lone Bellow (47); Eleanor Friedberger (46); Frightened Rabbit (41, but too low); Typhoon (37); Local Natives (30); Neko Case (28); Okkervil River (22); Arcade Fire (18); Volcano Choir (17); Daft Punk (15); the National (12); Jason Isbell (11); Haim (10); Chrvrches (8); Vampire Weekend (7); Mikal Cronin (2); and Phosphorescent (1). It's hard to quibble with many of these choices. I thought Villagers would be on here, as would Pickwick. And Ha Ha Tonka. There was no Avett Brothers, Head and the Heart, Deer Tick, Blitzen Trapper, etc. etc. I think these end of lists are tough, because there really is such great music this year. I'm looking forward to the debates ahead as I count down to my own list!
