Music to Start My Monday With...

Joseph Arthur.
Greg Laswell
Mat Kearney...

Sense a pattern. Yeah, I may as well crank the Snow Patrol today. But I want mellow guy music. And these all fit the bill.

Matt Nathanson. DMB. OAR. Tyrone Wells. BTE. You know. That kind of music.

New Joseph Arthur

This PopCandy post reminded me that Joseph Arthur has a new album out, a suddenly released double album called Redemption City. He did "Travel as Equals" on Letterman, and it's a fascinating song that he apparently played for Occupy Wall Streeters. Ugh to that. Though it's an intriguingly fast-paced, frenetic fast-paced song that conveys an urgency that most bland.  While I don't agree at all with his sentiments, I do give him credit for writing a damn good song.

Tuesday Lady Power

I started with Florence & the Machine, then the xx, and now Lykke Li. I was a big fan of the couple of singles I have heard off of Wounded Rhymes, particularly Get Some, I Follow Rivers, and Rich Kid Blues, but I have not yet listened to the full album. Good girl stuff.

And I broke down and bought the Joseph Arthur album. I actually had at least one track of his thanks to Paste. Mix of Pete Yorn, Cary Brothers, and Howie Day.
