With its 12 songs jammed into an airtight 35 minutes, Dormarion (out April 2) expands Telekinesis' palette to encompass the ominous — if ultimately agreeable — buzz of "Ghosts and Creatures," but every second of the record is as marvelous as it is meticulous. The effect is one of likability wielded as a weapon; a charm offensive that's unrelenting, but never suffocating in its desire to get everything right.Telekinesis hits DC on May 6 for a show at the Black Cat.

Bands That Should Be Bigger
All Songs Considered asked this week: Which band should be bigger than they are?
I certainly agree with Telekinesis, a favorite from last year. My answer: Frightened Rabbit, which not only puts on one hell of a concert, but has had back to back fantastic albums. The Low Anthem, another favorite 9:30 Club concert, is an answer I agree with from the comments. And while I did not answer Blind Pilot, that would work for me, too.
