Paste: Best Albums 2011

The great "Best Of's" of 2011 have begun with a list by Paste. I own quite a bit of it, particularly the top 10, and I also have several of these tunes on my lists.

What I own? Bon Iver (1), Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues (2), Middle Brother (5), Wilco (7), Dawes (8), Decemberists (10), Adele (14), Beirut (20--underrated), Feist (29, and my most recent purchase), Telekinesis (21), the Head and the Heart (33, and it came out last year), Seryn (34),

What I like/may get before the end of the year? My Morning Jacket (3), tUnE-yAr-Ds (4, though overrated imho), Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. (6), M83 (9), St. Vincent (11--big EH), Iron & Wine (12), Deer Tick (15), Yuck (16), Civil Wars' Barton Hollow (17), Wye Oak (18), Cults (19), Black Keys (22, not out yet, but getting good buzz), The Belle Brigade (23), TV on the Radio (24), the Antlers (25), the Low Anthem (26), Black Lips (27), Lykee Li (28, should get this one), Ryan Adams (32), the War on Drugs (37), Gillian Welch (39, love), Portugal the Man (40), James Blake (41), Wild Flag (42), the Joy Formidable (43), Those Darlings (45), Holy Ghost! (46), Real Estate (47), Mates of State (49).

New to me? Childish Gambino's Camp and Mister Heavenly's Out of Love.

Egregious omissions: I really liked Death Cab's Codes & Keys, the last REM, Cave Singers (of course), Ha Ha Tonka, Blind Pilot, Laura Marling, Amos Lee, Cold War Kids, Blitzen Trapper, William Elliott Whitmore, and Okkervil River (egregious oversight). I will have my own list soon!!
