Best of June

Wow, tomorrow marks the mid-year point of 2012. While I've been linking to plenty best of mid-year updates, I am never crazy about actually doing them myself.  Too much music left undiscovered. But I will write up my best of June.

Brandi Carlile easily tops that list. Love her newest album, and I am so bummed I did not see her, Josh Ritter, and the Lumineers last night at Wolf Trap. Langhorne Slim also put out a fabulous album, as did Temper Trap.  "Take a Walk" by Passion Pit is a sign of what should be a stellar album coming out in about a month. Emeli Sande's "Daddy" is another favorite track. The Imagine Dragons LP, which came out earlier this year, is also another favorite. Metric also has another album out, which I haven't listened to much yet, but I like what I have.  And add the new Glen Hansard as another of June's greatest.

Next month? In addition to Passion Pit, I believe The Gaslight Anthem has something coming out, as does Missy Higgins, who has dropped off a while. Looking forward to these and other new music discoveries!
