Republican Rock

So Bruce Springsteen is one of the (many) poster artists of the left, along with Pearl Jam and REM and Madonna and well, many, many others. What about the Republican side of the aisle? Kid Rock has received much of the attention during this election cycle with his "Born Free" serving as a soundtrack to the Mitt Romney campaign.

Who else? Five for Fighting’s John Ondrasik might be another example. I don't know if he's particularly active this cycle, but he was a supporter of John McCain last time around. There is also this list. There's Meat Loaf, Gene Simmons, Ted Nugent, Trace Adkins, and Johnny van Zandt from Lynryd Skynryd. And some other unexpected ones. And hey, Romney likes the Killers:
The list includes the Beach Boys – "Even though I know it's not the same group it used to be," Romney noted – and country stars like Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith. Romney also name-checked bands like Aerosmith and Alabama, while his wife – who revealed a preference for jazz, pop, rock, and classical music – noted that the Romneys have a friend in the Eagles. (Former lead guitarist Don Felder is slated to play the Republican National Convention next week.)  The most unexpected band on Romney's list of favorites? "The Killers are one group I enjoy," he said. The band's lead singer, Brandon Flowers, is Mormon.
Though hey, maybe they would like him back.

Several acts played at the RNC, though I guess that does not necessarily imply endorsement.
At press time, the lineup includes Kid Rock, Journey, the Zac Brown Band, 3 Doors Down, Dave Navarro, Guns N' Roses/Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum and past American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. The house band for performances at the convention itself will be led by former Saturday Night Live guitarist-bandleader, G.E. Smith.
We'll see who is playing come inaugural ball, time...
