I'm tired of hearing Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana on DC radio. I loved those tunes back in college, but it's 2011. Here are some picks of what the radio should be playing.

The Low Anthem.
Whoo, hoo, won tickets to see the Low Anthem tonight. I mostly know the group for its "Oh My God Charlie Darwin" album and a couple of its singles, like "Boeing 737" which disturbingly harkens to the 9/11 tragedy. Their low key, folky tunes will make for a nice mellow concert. Another new favorite, William Elliott Whitmore, opens.
