Best of May 2013

A few best of lists have been trickling out, as we near the mid-year point for music. And yeah, there's been a lot of great music this year. Of course, I've enjoyed the new National album, and I'm really anticipating their concert next week. I've also really enjoyed the new album by Laura Marling. "Where Can I Go" is a top single for the year, very likely. Vampire Weekend's album is awesome, and at least half of the singles on it are simply awesome. I was surprised at how much I liked the album. I've also enjoyed the She & Him album. And I'm enjoying the new Pete Yorn project The Olms. All of these artists are impressive in their consistent quality, and it makes for a particularly strong batch of May albums.

More favorites are coming next week, including Eleanor Friedberger, Camera Obscura, and Rogue Wave. Jason Isbell and Joseph Arthur will come later in June.
