Surfer Blood's new album, Pythons, is streaming at NPR Music. It's actually incredibly catchy alt-pop and runs a bit less than 35 minutes. Says NPR: "it's simply a dynamite summer pop record which opts to address its worries by dousing them in sunshine."
The lead singer had been arrested for domestic battery, though the charges were dropped. So there's that undercurrent. But as the review says, there's no trace of that in the lyrics.
